RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice post pro issue
You need to upload the wavs to the /opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts binder using SFTP, VMPro on a Server Edition uses the files from the UNIX filesystem. One time they're uploaded they will testify upwardly in the VMPro file selector.

Hi BFG9K,
I am using WINSCP for the SFTP, when I login I see the name of the module name Maria.vmp
What I see is: C:\Programme Files(x86)\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM, simply no Wav.
What SFTP do you lot utilize WINSCP or something else?
I am trying to find the details steps to do this in WINSCP

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice postal service pro issue
Nosotros employ Bitvise to manage our IPOs, as it opens an SSH likewise as an SFTP session. Equally derfloh also said you demand to catechumen the wav files to PCM, 8KHz Sample Charge per unit, signed 16bit mono for them to be recognized by VMPro
Zero6, I wanted to double bank check, are yous using an IP Office Server Edition Voicemail Pro, or a Windows Server Voicemail Pro? If it's a Server Edition then you lot volition be using SFTP to transfer the files, if it's a Windows server then they are at C:\Plan Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Wavs

Hi BFG9K,
So the ip role server edition is in a VM ware environment, so the prototype has been downloaded and installed on a server.
What I did side by side was to go in the server using the ip xx.twenty.xx.xx/7070 and download the VMPro client from App eye in the server.
And so information technology IP Office Server Edition Voicemail Pro, or do I need to download the windows version?

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition phonation post pro effect
Are file uploaded with root user and VMPro user doesn't accept the rights ?
attempt to alter rights to 777 on the files ;)
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro issue
You tin can utilize Web Managing director (:7070) to upload the files to the /opt/ipoffice/VMProCustomPrompts folder and then to the /opt/vmpro/WAVS folder
OR, you can use WinSCP to upload the files to /domicile/Administrator, then use PuTTY to SSH in equally Administrator, switch to root, change the ownership of the files to vmpro:vmpro and motion them to the right binder

nLeo (IS/It--Management)When you lot upload the files in the opt/ipoffice/vmpro/wavs/CustomPrompts folder make sure you are non logged in VM Pro.
Later on uploading the file, select information technology, and then click on the icon top right to commit changes.
If you are logged on VM pro it will not commit.

How-do-you-do Derfloh,
This is in the WINSCP right, using putty?
What is the cmd to get root?

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalism mail pro issue
I detect it much easier to utilize Spider web Director's File Director (in applications). Merely upload to the custom prompts binder and click "apply prompts". When you lot click "apply prompts" the file is then moved into the correct VM Pro custom prompts binder (there are actually two custom prompts folders!) and is bachelor to use with all the correct file permissions.
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition phonation mail pro issue
ii
ogTOKYO (IS/IT--Management)so here's a affair you lot tin can do. Utilize winscp under admin to motion the file to /home/admin/desktop
then utilise putty to root in
#
mv /home/admin/desktop/wavfile.wav /opt/vmpro/vm/Wavs/
chown vmpro:vmpro /wavfile.wav
chmod 755 /wavfile.wav
#
and if the file was uploaded and corrected converted to 8hz 16bit mono, you should be fine.

But a modest update, I got it to piece of work.
At that place was a pocket-size issue with the root password, because no i had the password, so I had avaya support reset it.
Once done I changed the rights in WINSCP and could load the recording.
Thank you all for the help you have given me

What yous need to consider when using the File Managing director in Web Management is that information technology will delete all wave files and and so upload the files added in File Manager once again.
If you uploaded other files through SCP the will be deleted.

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice post pro outcome
janni78...merely found that out to my dismay using file manager.
I uploaded the wav files as stated and i tested the recordings and they all worked
BUT...
and so I decided I need more wav files uploaded
then I added the new ones via file managing director and in my wisdom I decided to tidy up that upload folder.
Then I deleted the previous wav files that were loaded equally they had already been sent to the voicemail pro and working
when I committed the new files...they uploaded ok
BUT the previous files were deleted.
So the Moral of this story is........
when using FILE Manager any files that you see there leave them alone
unless you Actually want to delete them.
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalisation mail pro outcome
People even so give the suggest to use chmod 777 or chmod 755 to .wav files.
THIS SHOULD NEVER BE Done
This gives anyone execution rights to those files.
If anything utilize 644 which gives read+write access to owner and read rights to the residual.

RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail service pro effect
Use WinSCP to put them in /dwelling/Administrator/Custom
SSH via PuTTY, get to root, then...
Change the possessor of the files to vmpro:
chown vmpro:vmpro /home/Ambassador/Custom/*.*
Move the files into VM Pro Wavs directory, I use enu/Custom so I just movement the whole Custom directory:
mv /home/Administrator/Custom /opt/vmpro/Wavs/enu
Or if I've already created the Custom folder in enu, and am but adding additional files:
mv /home/Administrator/Custom/*.* /opt/vmpro/Wavs/enu/Custom
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalization mail pro issue
Whilst the Web Managing director route is the official method - information technology has all the hallmarks of having been designed by people who take never had to use Voicemail Pro. It met the minimum requirement - job washed. No intendance for usability, maintainability, flexibility.
Stuck in a never ending wheel of file copying.
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition vocalisation mail pro issue
Agree with you lot sizbut
RE: Uploading Wav file to avaya server edition voice mail pro issue
Janni, why? Delight explicate why chmod 755 a wav file is a bad thing in this instance. I'll look. God forbid anyone execute my .wav file... lol

God forestall why should we do anything properly when we tin can have the like shooting fish in a barrel route.
It's pretty piece of cake to discover information about why this shouldn't be done, still people with no understanding of *nux keep doing information technology.
